Italian craft is not a museum. It is a working economy of small ateliers, most of which employ between two and twenty people, all of which are still finding new ways to do very old things.
The healthy workshops share a pattern. They train slowly. They keep their tools sharp. They refuse work that would compromise the material. They ship less than they could, and they last longer than they should.
Our role is to bring these workshops into contact with clients who understand what they are looking at. It is a small circle on both sides. Its value is not in scale but in continuity.
The future of Italian craft, seen from the workshop floor, is not in doubt. It is only in question of who chooses to buy it.
